What is Bee Air Therapy?
Bee Air Therapy involves gently inhaling the warm, aromatic air from a live beehive. This air is rich in volatile compounds like propolis vapours, beeswax particles, essential oils, and plant-derived resins collected by the bees. These natural aerosols are believed to have respiratory, neurological, and immune-boosting benefits – and the experience is deeply relaxing.
What is the HivePod?
The HivePod is a beautifully designed, self-contained wellness pod, located in a peaceful area of our woodland apiary in the Brecon Beacons. Inside the pod, you’ll lie back on a comfortable daybed while filtered hive air is gently dispersed into the room. You are never in direct contact with the bees, but you benefit from their remarkable healing atmosphere.
Is Bee Air Therapy safe?
Yes. You are completely safe inside the HivePod – there is no physical exposure to bees or risk of stings, and the hive air is filtered through a controlled system. We use medical-grade materials to guide the air from the hive through fine filters and diffusers before it reaches you. It’s a safe, natural therapy, ideal even for those who are curious but cautious.
Who can benefit from a session?
Clients often report improvements in:
Asthma or respiratory sensitivity
Sleep and relaxation
Stress, anxiety, and mental clarity
Seasonal allergies
Immune system resilience
It’s also used as a complementary wellness practice by those managing fatigue, autoimmune conditions, or looking for a deep reconnection with nature.
Note: If you have a diagnosed respiratory condition or allergy, please check with your healthcare provider first.
What does a session involve?
Each session lasts around 45 minutes. You’ll be welcomed by one of our trained hosts and given a brief overview of how the HivePod works. Once inside, you’ll lie comfortably, close your eyes, and breathe deeply while the beehive air is gently diffused into the space. Many guests describe it as “forest bathing with bees” – soothing, restorative, and grounding.
Included in your session is a herb infusion or tea to your choice and a raw honey treat to complement the bee air therapy
Are there scientific studies to support Bee Air Therapy?
Bee Air Therapy (Apitherapy) is gaining momentum, especially across Eastern Europe, where it has been used for decades. Studies have shown that hive air contains biologically active volatile compounds with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. While more Western clinical studies are still emerging, early evidence and anecdotal feedback are very promising.

What We Do
What is Apitherapy?
Apitherapy is the use of bee-derived substances to promote health, reinforce the immune system to combat illness, and restore balance to the body and mind. It draws on the entire arsenal of the hive.
As well as our pure and infused honey, we will also be offering natural treatments, creams and balms.
